Check out our interview with the bass legend below.

EDMNYC: How did you get involved in DJ’ing?
Bronk: When I was ten I had my own drive-in show. Actually, it was a table with 2 Discmans on it and a few self made disco lights. When I was 21 I went to Curacao for 3 months and learned playing with the Pioneers. That’s were it all started.

EDMNYC: Did you have any musical background?
Bronk: I wish! I never learned to play an instrument. I can play some rhythms, but most of the time I draw my notes in the piano roll. Everything I do in the studio is self educated or learned from tutorials.

EDMNYC: Who are some producers that you look up to?
Bronk: Of course Skrillex, he has always been a big inspiration to me. Also, guys as BROHUG and Joyryde are pushing some boundaries at the moment. I appreciate their music a lot.

EDMNYC: Tell us a bit about your new tune “Find Me” featuring Axel Ehnström.
Bronk: Find Me is a different sound than my club tracks I released lately. This track is a more listened to track than my club tracks. I spend a lot of time to find “my sound” and I think that really worked out with Find Me. I am very proud of this track.

EDMNYC: How was it working with Axel Ehnström?
Bronk: Axel is such a talented guy! We teamed up during a Cloud 9 writing camp in Amsterdam. Claes Funke also joined us and the lyrics were written in 2 hours. It was such a great day! After the session we sent e-mails back and forward and Axel re-recorded the vocals at his home studio.

EDMNYC: “Find Me” was released under your own label GOONS Music. When did you start this label?
Bronk: We started GOONS Music in April 2017. The main reason for starting the label is to have more control over my release schedule and to help new/talented/upcoming artists to release their new music.

EDMNYC: 2018 is right around the corner. What can we expect from you? A New York performance perhaps?
Bronk: I’m planning to spend a lot of my time in the studio to make music. I also plan to do a lot of collaborations next year, but you will hear more of that soon. There are already a lot of great gigs on the program for 2018 and I can’t wait to be in NYC very soon!
