In the aftermath of the monumental success of Zomboy’s 2016 ‘Neon Grave’ EP, fans have eagerly been waiting for a colossal follow-up. The time has finally come, after teasing fans with new music at Electric Forest, EDC Las Vegas, and the initial stops of his ‘Rott N’ Roll’ North American Bus Tour, for the bass music leader’s highly anticipated ‘Rott N’ Roll’ EP via Never Say Die Records.
The 4-track EP thematically blends together, creating a cinematic journey from start to finish. Kicking off with “Biterz,” listeners are treated to an ominous, foreboding introduction reminiscent of a classic horror film and elevated to a relentlessly heart-pounding track filled with piercing synth stabs. “Young & Dangerous” restores balance with a beautiful piano led intro, before seamlessly transitioning into an anthemic masterpiece laced with Kato’s empowering vocals. “Rotten” sustains the dramatic musicality with meticulous percussion and a blistering verse from Dim Mak‘s Bok Nero. The musical voyage concludes with the crossover single “Saints & Sinners,” rounding out an EP that adds to Zomboy’s palette of timeless productions and versatility in an age where electronic music continues to evolve.
