Global Citizen is a community of people like us. People who want to learn about and take action on the world’s biggest challenges—and use their power to get other people involved too.
They bring you stories and actions that make a difference, help fight extreme poverty and inequality around the world, and support approaches that will make life more sustainable for people and the planet.
The lineup for the 2015 Global Citizen Festival is out! Get excited for Pearl Jam, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. So this year we don’t see any famous big name EDM Dj’s on the lineup but we still get to enjoy great artists. On September 26th, they will be joining 60,000 global citizens on the Great Lawn in New York City’s Central Park. And you can be there.
The 2015 Global Citizen Festival is a leverage point to shape the future of international development through the Global Goals. These goals will guide the next 15 years of international development and are the key targets to end extreme poverty by 2030.
These goals will be announced at the United Nations on September 25th, and global citizens can turn the stage in Central Park into the next big step for world leaders to announce their concrete plans to accomplish the Global Goals.
This year, global citizens will earn their free tickets by taking part in sets of actions called “Action Journeys.” These actions may include signing a petition, sending a tweet, writing emails and calling world leaders. Taken together, these actions will shape the future by holding world leaders accountable.
The Global Citizen Festival is bringing amazing acts (Come on, Pearl Jam? Beyoncé? Ed Sheeran? Coldplay? All in Central Park? Yeah, that’s amazing) on stage, political commitments from world leaders and incredible behind-the-scenes talent.
Chris Martin of Coldplay has been working tirelessly as a creative director on the show, Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Richard Curtis will produce a one hour special out of the program, and Emmy Award-winning producer, Ken Ehrlich (you know the guy who just happens to do the Grammy Awards) is organizing things. That’s a lot of talent behind the scenes. And all because they know this event can build a better future for everyone.

This email will contain a unique code and detailed description on how to claim your tickets through ticketmaster – remember you only have 72 hours to claim your tickets or they will be re-entered into the next draw!
I claimed my tickets, when are they sent to me?
This year we have implemented a ticket delivery delay system with Ticketmaster so once you have claimed they are locked in and confirmed and you don’t need to do anything else. You will be sent a notification directly from ticketmaster on September 23rd letting you know that your tickets are ready to be printed!
I lost my tickets, what do I do?
It’s really important to keep your paper tickets in a safe place – treat them like cash! If you find that you have mislaid them, please let us know as soon as possible. You can reach us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org – make sure to include your full name, order code and email address you redeemed them with.
I won but didn’t claim my tickets in time, What happens?
Unfortunately if you didn’t claim your tickets within the 72 hour window then they were automatically re-entered back into the draw. Don’t worry though if there are still more draws then you will automatically be entered into them.
How will Global Citizen prevent these tickets from winding up on the secondary market?
We know that most of you will work hard and fairly to earn and win your tickets as Global Citizens who are committed to ending extreme poverty by 2030.
But, some people will cheat. We’ve clearly set out the rules in the T&Cs, and will remove people who break the rules from all draws.
This year we have also implemented a ticket delivery delay system with Ticketmaster so while you have to claim your free tickets within the 72 hour window of winning them, you won’t actually receive your tickets until Wednesday September 23rd.
If anyone does try to sell any of the FREE tickets, big ticket reselling sites will ensure that any FREE tickets that are posted are promptly taken down. In addition, Global Citizen will cancel any tickets that are posted to reselling sites – so if you buy them, you won’t be able to get into the show. If you see tickets to the Global Citizen Festival posted on a third-party sales site, please tell us at email@example.com.
You can transfer your tickets with friends using Ticketmaster’s ticket exchange system – just log into ticketmaster and go into my tickets and select the transfer tickets option. If you try to sell the free tickets, we will cancel them – we have standing arrangements with secondary market providers including StubHub, eBay and Craigslist.com.
Can I enter the draw multiple times?
Yes! You can enter up to 5 times, with each entry requiring the completion of a unique action journey. Don’t enter under lots of different email addresses – that’s cheating, and you’ll run the risk of getting deleted from the draw.
How do I buy VIP Tickets?
Limited VIP Tickets are available through our ticketing partner Ticketmaster. Click here to visit their site and purchase.
