Oscar G Brought The Birthday Beats

Oscar G’s Birthday @ Love, LI

With an ongoing birthday celebration for house music legend Oscar G, it was only right he made a stop at one of his favorite places to play, Long Island.

Oscar G’s Love, LI debut on Friday was one for the books. The night started off a little slower than anticipated, but the island’s Oscar fans true colors showed when the birthday boy hit the decks.

Opening the night was local up-and-coming DJ, Jay R. Playing at venues like Pacha NYC, he’s accustomed to warming up the room and did just that for the drum king. His set ranged from dark funk like Wade’s “Moonlight” and brought us back up to another level with Danny Tenaglia’s sure crowd pleaser, “Music Is The Answer.” Jay R even got a reaction with an interesting choice of “CoCo” towards the end of his set.

The dance floor heated up early — dance circles were formed and the crowd was going at it. Oscar G took the decks and brought straight fire, right up until the end of the night.

The crowd seemed passionate in their dancing and kept wanting more. The entire room was full of people who were true Oscar G fans, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Something that sets Oscar aside from the res,t is that he’s passionate and constantly determined to find new music that everyone will love.

Hips swayed to tracks like “A Ballar Mi Gente” and the bass and drums hit internally with a crowd favorites like Diaboliko’s “House Music.” His set took his impassioned Long Island fans on an unbelievable journey that hit an array of feels and genres.

When speaking to him last week, EDMNYC learned that Oscar G’s main goal was to get his crowd moving and he far exceeded that goal and all of the island’s expectations.

Next week, season two at Love Nightclub continues with none other than the queen of dark beats, Miss. Jennifer.
