Thomas Gold is making moves. Axwell signed him to his label, Axtone, before others like Tiesto and Steve Angello could sign him. He is on a different continent every day while traveling on his “Fanfare” world tour. Showcasing his music all over the world, German born Frank Knebel, better known as the DJ Thomas Gold, is making a one-night stop in NYC, and you better not miss it. Playing at the Roseland Ballroom on January 26th with Nari and Milani and Feenixpawl, Thomas Gold is going to put on an explosive set.
Maurizio Nari and Ronnie Milani, hailing from Italy, are sure to play their infamous “Atom,” while Australia’s Aden Forte and Josh Soon, more commonly known as Feenixpawl, will likely include their signature track, “In My Mind”, in their DJ set. Nari and Milani have released productions for many DJs, including the likes of Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, and Robbie Rivera. Feenixpawl have been working hard, making remixes and working with various artists such as Nervo, Carl Kennedy, and Adrian Lux.
Gold has risen the fame ladder quickly thanks to his impressive talent. On the set list no doubt will be his remixes of popular songs, his newest being “Feel Again” by One Republic, and his originals like “Sing2Me” and “Alive.” Gold made his debut on DJ Mag’s Top 100 and has an Essential Mix in the works, and the evolution of his music will be evident in his set at Pacha. Ever developing, he started with trance feel in his work and has subsequently moved into more a progressive and tech house sound.
The Ballroom itself is a piece of history. Stars from all genres of music have taken the stage, from Madonna to Nirvana to Eric Prydz. Three stories tall, it can hold a few thousand, which will be key with a show of these proportions. Thomas Gold is making big moves; if you blink you might miss him. Better catch him while you can- it will be like hitting pure gold.
