Preview: Indulge Yourself in Philadelphia’s Trance–Filled Weekend by Jessica Villalobos

The Electronic Dance Music Scene continues to explode in Philadelphia in 2013 thanks to our friends at Rumor and SoundGarden Hall. This weekend, Philadelphia gives us another chance to indulge ourselves in the world of trance.

Things warm up at Rumor on Friday, January 11, 2013, with New York native duo Filo & Peri. This duo can drive any crowd wild with their eclectic style and upbeat sets. Although, this more exclusive, lounge-like venue runs on a smaller scale than sister concert-hall venue SoundGarden Hall, Rumor always promises for a more intimate night filled with catchy beats and close-tuned energy. But don’t expend all your energy Friday night! The day many fans and music enthusiasts up and down the East Coast have been waiting for is finally here on Saturday!

Dash flyer
Dash Berlin will be making his debut at SoundGarden Hall on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Famous for his hits, “Till The Sky Falls Down” and “Man on the Run”, Dash Berlin has made a name for himself within the past few years. Nowadays, Dash continues to produce his own music and has been work on remixes and mash-ups, characteristic of his own style he likes to call “Dash- Ups”. Our friends at SoundGarden Hall expect a huge turnout for this event and from what I understand, Platform VIP tables have been sold out for weeks and the ticket supply remains limited. But don’t worry, the BYOB upgrade and VIP tables are still available in Hacienda Lounge within SoundGarden Hall.

In addition, it was just recently announced that New York’s own, Tyler Sherritt, will be opening for Dash Berlin. Tyler Sherritt made big waves in the Electronic Dance Music Scene all throughout 2012. Although Sherritt is known for his amazing singing talent, nowadays he is working on producing his own tracks in an effort to share his passion for EDM music worldwide. Sherritt has been making a name for himself, opening for some of the biggest names in the industry like Dirty South, Eric Prydz and most recently, #1 DJ in the World, Armin Van Buuren on New Year’s Eve at Pier 36 in New York City. 2013 is looking bright for Sherritt and we can only wait to see what he has in store for us.

So what are your plans for this weekend? I know for me, I am excited to see what Philadelphia has in store for the Electronic Dance Music scene. I look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces and hopefully some new ones! See ya there!
