Two heads are better than one – a maxim evidenced by the production and spinning union of Grube & Hovsepian. G&H came into being in 2008 when Florida-based producer Tim Grube reached out to LA-based Mike Hovsepian. Having heard SMG honcho Markus Schulz playing Mike’s tracks on his Global DJ Broadcast show, Tim had picked up on the Coldharbour-edged themes contained in his solo productions. Recognizing a like-mind, he suggested an east-to-west coast spanning production & spinning partnership – a challenge that Mike readily accepted.

Together, in an incredible short space of time, they’ve carved their musical mark, building up a formidable foundation discography. To date the duo have served up a proverbial sound-storm of club-rocking tracks for many respected labels. High Contrast, Arnej Music, Club Elite and (naturally enough) Coldharbour have shared the spoils of hard fired audio like ‘Invisible’, ‘Conviction’ and ‘Pressure’, as well as their Klauss Goulart collaboration ‘Territory’. Their club ordinance has found its way into an increasing high profile litany of DJs wallets – Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Above & Beyond, and Gareth Emery being just some of regular deck supporters. Most recently the pair teamed up with fellow US producer Elevation for the rapaciously uplifting ‘City of Angels’ (due for release Q1 2012 thru Coldharbour Recordings).

The pair are no less versed in the turntable arts, with Tim originally having honed his behind-the-decks skills warming up for many world-class DJs in his native Washington D.C. area. On the other side of the country, Mike blazed a comparable trail in California and now collectively their progressive/trance, and electro tinged sets have brought EDM fans flocking in ever-greater numbers. With clubs like Red Circle in San Diego, LA’s Avalon and Electric Pickle in Miami already smashed, in March they’ll make their debut at the 2012 Winter Music Conference, playing the Coldharbour showcase at Dream.

Better known to his family and friends as Adrian Ivan, it’s under the assumed name of Mr Pit that he’s spent the last 5 years delivering one block-rocking track after another to the world’s trance floors.

Adrian’s studio story began halfway through the last decade when he produced a clutch of well-received tunes for underground imprints like Grooved, Emotive and Super6. In early 2008 he composed what turned out to be his breakthrough track – the epically melodic ‘Shana’. It was snapped up by Coldharbour Recordings and midway through the year became Pit’s debut release on the label. In a charge led by trance overlord (and Coldharbour label boss) Markus Schulz, the genre’s DJ hierarchy hammered it – turning it into one of the tracks of the year.

Thus begun a flourishing artist/label relationship that over the last 4 years has gone from strength to strength and seen the release of over a dozen tracks. Near singlehandedly putting his native Romania on the genre’s map, through tracks like the ‘The Cube’, ‘Vanguard’, the Vicky Fee vocalled ‘Back For More’, ‘Unchanged’ and ‘Deluxe’, Pit established himself as a major production force. Now a cornerstone of the Coldharbour label (and seen by fans as one of its key latter-day sound designers), most recently it’s been the likes of ‘Sky Traffic’, ‘Stamina’ and ‘Overload’ that’s seen Mr Pit continue to reign supreme.

From its erstwhile singularly sweeping harmonic/melodic feel, Pit has future-proofed his sound and latterly introduced tougher, gritty more floor-attacking elements to his music. This has seen the demand for his studio skills rise to yet greater levels and he’s now notched releases on High Contrast Nu Breed and Mainframe as well as his own Well Mixed Records. In early 2012 Markus Schulz licensed both of Adrian’s latest studio creations (‘River Of Hearts’ and ‘Pole Position’) to the tracklisting of his City compilation ‘Los Angeles ‘12’

In his native Romania he has established an impressive reputation behind the decks, once – one that constantly reaches further and further afield. He’s smashed colossal festivals like Sunrise and Global Gathering in Poland and brought floor uproar to clubs like X2 in Indonesia, Russia’s Matrix and GodsKitchen in the UK. On Sunday Feb 19th, Pit made his US DJ debut, playing the Sunday night of Markus Schulz’s Los Angeles ’12 release parties.

Barely 18 months into his professional career, KhoMha’s music has already sent shockwaves through electronic dance music circles. The effect of this scene-stealing audio has latterly been compounded by a run of dexterous, electrifying deck performances, which display intuitive track selection and mixing sophistication far beyond his years. For visiting big name DJs, this has seen him become Columbia’s warm-up man of choice and to date he’s rocked the sound-systems of clubs like Forum, Carnival, Wild, La Kasa, Mistica and Envy. Putting these two disciplines together has marked the young Columbian’s card as an EDM star in the making.

KhoMha’s productions and remixes notably transcend traditional dance music divisions, with his work being embraced by an extensive, impressive cross-section of DJs. His studio-wares have charged the decks of Guetta, Schulz and Van Doorn as quickly as they have those of Armin or Tiesto. That in turn has captured the imagination of clued-up clubbers from around he world in ever-greater numbers. Further defining this multidenominational style is the wide range of labels that have come knocking on the Medellin resident’s studio door. Among them to date have been the likes of Armada and Ultra Music, Black Hole Recordings, Cr2, Pinkstar, Spinnin’, Coldharbour and many others.

Markus Schulz hailed KhoMha as Coldharbour Recordings’ first Artist of the Year in 2011. Both Schulz and Matt Darey also named him in their Top 100 DJ interviews as their Producer of the Year. They have been quick to call on KhoMha’s production power for their own tracks, assigning him to remix (respectively) their 2011 releases ‘Sinners’ and ‘Hold Your Breath’. Further, KhoMha’s also been behind reworks of tracks from the likes of Nadia Ali & Chris Reece, DNS Project and Ad Brown.

Original KhoMha productions like ‘Magnetik’, ‘Rainy In The Night’ and ‘507’ have brought equally quick support from the press. DJ Mag called the latter track “a white-knuckle, biggest-ride-in-the-park type tune”, going on to say that “when dropped, right-time/right-floor, ‘507’ does scary levels of damage”. In advance of its release, Mixmag hailed his ‘Mind Gamer’ track as “perfectly judged” as well as “confident, convincing audio” and went on to pronounce it “smoking hot!” DJ Mag meanwhile praised its “intricate drum and percussion programming” and said that it was a “subtly nuanced track” remarking it had “far more going on than first meets the ear”.

At just 21 years of age, KhoMha’s conclusively on EDM’s career fast-track.
