Kaskade Wins America’s Best DJ of 2011 in Las Vegas

Kaskade was officially awarded with the 2011 America’s Best DJ title this past Sunday, Oct. 9. The ceremony took place at Marquee Nightclub in the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.

Pioneer DJ’s “Davey Dave” Arevalo presented Kaskade with the award. Z-Trip, who won the 2009 ABDJ award, wound up finishing in third place for 2011. Second-place finisher, Skrillex, was on tour and unavailable. The award is a unique specially engraved, gold-plated Pioneer DJM-900nexus mixer. Kaskade was so excited about the award he wanted to somehow mount the gold plated mixer to a chain so he could wear it as a necklace!

The ceremony was held in the library pressroom of Marquee, following with a closing party. Kaskade and Scotty Boy were on the decks with a special surprise appearance from LMFAO. It meant a lot for Kaskade to get this award from the DJ Times magazine. He grew up reading the magazine and learned quite a few things from DJ Times as well. After finishing second last year, Kaskade is a well deserving 2011 winner.

Congratulations to Kaskade from EDMNYC!
