Were you at Schmanski the last time house music producer MK was there? If you missed out on his unplanned extended set right before the New Year, this is your chance to get in on the wild ride as he returns to the decks on June 29th. MK is responsible for his iconic remix of Nightcrawlers’ record “Push the Feeling On” which was used almost 20 years later as the basis of Pitbull’s global hit record “Hotel Room Service”.
Even if you don’t realize it, you probably know at least one song by MK. Kinchen began his career in the mid 90’s as a house music producer and remixer, working on tracks for artists like Pet Shop Boys, Terrence Trent D’Arby and even Bobby Brown. This Detroit native has been producing tracking for over 25 years. As someone with decades of experience, MK possesses the ability to effortlessly combine elements from different genres into an electronic track to make it more accessible to a wider audience. He has remixed Rihanna, Lana del Rey, Clean Bandit and worked with the likes of Will Smith, Jay-Z & Snoop Dogg.
There is no doubt in my mind that he won’t bring the heat to the Brooklyn dancefloor this Friday. On this night, my prediction is that we will hear a mixture of MK’s older sounds from the mid 90’s era to his more current tunes as the night progresses and the crowd evens out. I’ve been raving about this show to all of my friends since it got announces because it’s always going to be an unforgettable night filled with non-stop dancing.
