Late Night Alumni strides into 2015 with their unmatched brand of down tempo house music and has no intention of slowing down.
What started simply as a side project over a decade ago between singer Becky Jean Williams and production luminaries Finn Bjarnson, John Hancock and Ryan Raddon (aka Kaskade), has evolved into a lasting movement. 2014 alone found Late Night Alumni entertaining the masses at New York City’s Electric Zoo Festival and took them to the Paradiso Festival under the epic surroundings of the Gorge Amphitheater. Just as comfortable on the club circuit, Late Night Alumni played to shoulder-to-shoulder crowds on their own headlining dates, and co-headlined with Myon and Shane 54 on 2014’s Heartbeat Tour.
No stranger to the big-room experience, Late Night Alumni had already proved that the unique blend of Becky Jean’s ethereal vocals meshed with organic and electronic instrumentation does resonate on a grand scale, after opening for all dates on Kaskade’s “Atmosphere” Tour. The landmark shows took the group to New York’s Barclay’s Center, Chicago’s Navy Pier, American Airlines Arena in Miami, and The Shrine in Los Angeles.
But unlike so many touring acts of the day, Late Night Alumni has always understood that the music comes first, and they have 4 albums under their belt to prove it. With that in mind, came 2014’s “Drummer.” Released under Kaskade’s Arkade label, “Drummer” solidified a longtime association with digital media pioneer, Michelle Phan as Late Night Alumni became the first creative partner of Phan’s new venture, Shift Music Group.
Always staying true to their musical roots, it’s been 10 years since Late Night Alumni’s breakout hit “Empty Streets” went from underground club classic to internationally licensed hit in 2005; as the song went on to appear in over a dozen of the world’s most popular compilations, was featured in commercials including a spot for Toyota, and earned Top Ten Radio Play in the UK and US while hitting #1 in Spain. Four years later Late Night Alumni released their sophomore album “Of Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Etc,” the first of three albums on Ultra Records, followed by 2011’s “Haunted,” and 2013’s “The Beat Becomes A Sound”
With each album release, the band continues to evolve and refine their distinct sound. Consistently finding new blends of melodies and pushing the boundary between live and electronic music, expect Late Night Alumni to diversify the current music soundscape with their unprecedented 5th studio album set for release in 2015 on Arkade.
Mike Saint-Jules is certainly looking to take the scene by force this year in 2015 and beyond.
It all began in 2002 when Mike was first introduced to the EDM world via a television documentary, showcasing the sounds of DJ Tiesto. From that moment on, he spent his days learning about and producing music. In 2008, Mike earned wide praise for his work with Flashover and Blackhole Recordings with tracks like “Sunlit Clouds” and “Solarflame.” Mike has proved his talents working alongside rising stars such as Breakfast (Keyworth) and Filo & Peri while producing remixes for legends like Ferry Corsten, Super 8, Ronski Speed, and Lange to name a few.
The Saint-Jules name rings synonymous with solid productions and consistency. Today, his sharpest of tunes can now be found on Black Hole Recordings and on Armada Music. It is clear that a career in music is his destiny. This well-earned respect explains why Mike’s fan base is ever-growing and can be found internationally.
Having entertained more then 2,000 people at a time, large crowds don’t scare Mike. His skill is quickly noticed and he has taken control of the opening duties at one of the best clubs in New York City: Pacha. Mike’s talents do not lie in production alone, however, as Mike is a very seasoned and sought after DJ. With an energetic and enchanting stage presence, Mike is familiar with sharing the stage with such names as Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Marcus Schossow, Tritonal, and DJ Eco. His skills with the decks and the ability to touch fans with the music in his live sets cause his fan base to become strong, ever growing, and widespread.
The Radio Show
When he isn’t producing or DJing, Mike is running his “Universal Soundz” radio show. 6+ years strong, this one hour show is currently being aired on over 7 online radio stations such as Party107, SenseFM, DieselFM, SSRadio, and PureFM, as well as being available as a podcast on iTunes and downloadable on Mixcloud and Soundcloud. It’s just a taste of the devotion that Mike Saint-Jules is bringing to his audience. With the ever-growing support from the radio stations and networking sites, Universal Soundz will continue to grow and reach out to millions around the world.
2014 has been the mark of a new sound for Mike Saint-Jules. While still maintaining the space-like theme in his productions, Mike looks to enhance his sound by taking it to the next level with the big room trance sound that currently shakes venues all over the world. With new collaborations, remixes and, of course, the never-ending monstrous originals that are in the making, Mike will certainly be a name to remember and watch out for this year and beyond.
