ADAM: WHEN AND WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG?
PAIGE: My first gig was actually my middle school graduation party. At 12 years old I started rocking school gigs, summer parties, and DJing in my garage every day.
ADAM: HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INTO EDM?
PAIGE: Dance music was always on the radio with my family, but I first got hooked on EDM from my cousin Mike. I remember him giving me a CD that said “Techno 02″ on it. I must’ve listened to it on repeat for at least a year.
ADAM: WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE DJ?
PAIGE: Of all time: Daft Punk & Erick Morillo. Current: Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Swedish House Mafia, and Chuckie.
ADAM: WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
PAIGE: Long Island born and raised. I live in Oyster Bay now—a beautiful, but boring town.
ADAM: DESCRIBE THE PAIGE PROJECT.
PAIGE: The Paige Project is a name I gave for everything going on. It’s so much more than just a single track. Putting together productions, album, working with multiple artists, different sounds and ideas. The journey of all of it is something that means so much to me.
ADAM: WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?
PAIGE: I have the release of Paige featuring Deborah Cox – “Higher” coming out soon, which I’m really excited about. I’m also hoping to release a lot more of my productions ASAP. I want the world to listen and dance to Paige, not just during a set. I’d love to be traveling the world doing gigs soon!
ADAM: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME?
PAIGE: Wow, that’s definitely a tough one. D-train – “Walk On By” is up there. I listen to disco a lot, and I’ll usually only listen to positive, uplifting music. It totally effects my production.
ADAM: WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR HEAD THE FEW DAYS LEADING UP TO YOUR PACHA NYC DEBUT?
PAIGE: I was very anxious, to say the least. But it was anxiousness from excitement, not nerves. It’s something I’ve dreamed about for the past six years. I couldn’t sleep that night so I stayed up in the studio working on music, productions, danced—I couldn’t sit still. Christmas definitely came early this year for me!
ADAM: FAVORITE HOBBIES BESIDES MUSIC?
PAIGE: Surfing is my get away. I love to head down to Long Beach and escape for a few days. I never tell my manager though, because he’d keep me safe in a bubble if he could. I try to travel to exotic spots to surf when I get some time off—Nicaragua, Costa Rica, both incredible trips.
ADAM: LASTLY, TELL THE FANS A FEW RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOURSELF THAT WE MIGHT NEVER KNOW ABOUT YOU.
PAIGE: My Dad was a disco DJ back in the day, and I still have his turntables and vinyl collection.I went to school at School Of Audio Engineering in NYC.I’m also a Vegetarian and addicted to chocolate like you have no idea.
ADAM: THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SPEAK TO US, PAIGE. WE’RE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AGAIN SOON.
PAIGE: My pleasure! Thanks to you and EDMNYC for the interview.
